You remember romance....
that thing we used to wish for before all we wanted was a hot fuck and a hand job?
Romance is the thing that drove us all to read Twilight thirty-zillion times JUST to hear Edward say "You are my life now..."
It's the reason we all cry in the last episode of Sex In The City when Carrie Bradshaw is standing on that bridge in Paris and Mr. Big stares into her eyes and says "Your the one, Carrie"
And what girl wouldn't kill to be Juliet when Romeo turns up at midnight to swear his love to her... ................................................*girly sigh*
Romance is that feeling you get at the very thought of that one person who gives you butterflies...
SO why, as we get older and thus experience new things, do we tend to completely disregard it???
When did it all become "as much as you can, as fast as you can do it"?
Now "hanging out" means REALLY "hanging out" and instead of asking "oh how was you day?" we ask "oh how much did you do?"
When did we swap flowers for fellatio?
AND WHEN THE HELL DID SKITTLES BECOME SEXTOYS!?
It's Pathetic.
and above all
It's sad.
What's sadder is that I never cared about it before now.
Before now, romance has never really mattered to me; i thought it was something nice that only had a place in films and books. All i wanted was the physical.
The touch. The feel. The sensations.
But strangely, it is when i finally get these things that i realise i want more...
I've realised that i WANT butterflies!
